Inclusive Playground

The 14,000-square-foot inclusive playground includes tall towers, climbing structures, slides, and opportunities for communal play. Additional features include a 4-foot grade change that lends itself to hill slides and hill play. Two 12-foot towers with climbing features and twisting, tunnel slides make a statement as you enter Village Park. Other notable features are: at-grade spinner, accessible teeter-totter, accessible zip line, swing set, and a playhouse intended for 2–5 year olds.

Multi-Sport Courts

The athletic-surfaced courts have a dual purpose, which includes four pickleball courts, with four half-court basketball courts. Each court features permanent pickleball nets and permanent, fixed basketball hoops. The court is constructed of asphalt with a sport coating.

Pickleball courts are reserved only for participants of the Village of Sussex Park and Recreation pickleball programs. The current schedule can be viewed here.

Only registered participants of Village of Sussex Park and Recreation pickleball programs should use the courts during these times.

Pavilion

In the middle of the recreation is a 5,000 square foot pavilion with two indoor rentable spaces, an outdoor overhang that will seat 100, kitchenette, and bathrooms. The building houses our Summer Day Camp program. The pavilion has a 90 car parking lot.

GaGa Ball

New in 2023 is a gaga ball pit. Bring your own ball (lightweight inflatable vinyl balls work best) and grab some friends off of the playground to start a game!

What is Gaga Ball?  It is commonly referred to as a "softer form of dodgeball". The object is to be the last one left in the pit without getting hit by the ball. Each player tries hitting the ball with their hand and aiming to strike fellow players at the knee or below.
