At the close of each year, the Finance Department closes the books and the outside auditing firm comes in to review the Village’s operations. Once the audit is completed, the financial statements are issued. The financial statements present the Village’s financial position and results of operation as of and for the period ended on the date of the statements.

During 2020, the Village of Sussex was assigned a rating of Aa2 by Moody’s Investors Service. The Village first received this rating in 2018 due to a strong fund balance and liquidity relative to its operating budget, a stable tax base and strong wealth and income levels. Moody’s stated that the Village has maintained strong fund balance levels and even stronger liquidity since 2011.

Neither the Fire Department nor the Finance Department is able to answer questions related to ambulance invoice and insurance claims.
