Interested in serving?

As a member of one of the Village's boards, committees or commissions, you will focus upon community needs that require your understanding, dedication, enthusiasm, vision, and experience. Participation on a board, committee or commission can be a satisfying and challenging experience. It provides an opportunity to develop firsthand knowledge of the operating policies and problems of municipal government. It also gives you an opportunity to play a vital role in the communication process between citizen and elected representatives.

Citizen members bring a broad and invaluable perspective of ideas, backgrounds and professional expertise. Public involvement is crucial to our decision-making process, and citizen appointments are an important and valued part of our government. By advising the Village Board and staff, bringing new ideas to the table, and representing all of the diverse elements of our community, members of our boards, commissions, and committees help us make the best, most informed decisions possible, for the benefit of the entire community.

The Village President, by ordinance or statute, is responsible for appointing citizen members to serve on boards, commissions and committees. All appointments are confirmed by the Village Board.

To submit your name for consideration for an appointment, please complete the application below. This appointment process sometimes occurs at others times of the year due to vacancies.
