Happy Hookers
Join our group of senior volunteers who come together to work on various knitting or crocheting projects for themselves or their community. All skill levels are welcome. No pre-registration necessary.
Thursdays at the Civic Center from 9 to 11 a.m.
Basketweaving
Students of all levels are welcome to weave a project of their choice with the guidance of an experienced instructor. Materials are available for purchase through the instructor or bring your own.
This is an open studio; come as many days as you like. No pre-registration necessary.
Bring the following supplies to each session:
- Clippers or strong scissors
- 10 to 15 clip clothespins
- Old towel
- Small flat screwdriver
- Pail or bucket
- Plant mister
- Pencil
- Needle-nosed pliers
Tuesdays at the Civic Center from 9 a.m. to noon. Cost is $12 per person per week.
Game Time
Join us for casual game and card playing at the Civic Center on the following days/times. Players must register at the front desk.
- Thursdays: Sheepshead, Mahjongg, Hand & Foot and Bridge from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Community Room.
Bingo
Join us for Bingo, sponsored by the Sussex Actively Aging Committee, on these Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. No registration required.

Support Group for Caregivers
Are you providing care and support for a family member or loved one with medical or dementia-related needs? Can you use some helpful suggestions or just a friendly face and support from someone who understands what a day is like for you?
If you answered yes, join us for our monthly support group on the fourth Monday of each month. Some months are social months and participants will meet for a social event outside of the regular schedule.

Group meets the 4th Monday of each month at 12:45 p.m. in the Civic Center Craft Room.
Toenail Trimmers
At the Civic Center by appointment only.
Registered nurses are trained to provide personal care and advice to participants. Call Toe Nail Trimmers directly to schedule an appointment at (262) 719-0336.
Clinic provides:
- Safe toenail trimming every 8-12 weeks.
- Appropriate medical referrals.
- Foot assessment, massage and moisturizing.
- Evaluation of illness affecting feet.
- Assessment for medications that influence foot care.
- Self-help education.
Fee: $35 paid to Toe Nail Trimmers, LLC. Clinic appointments are 30 minutes.
Clinic is held on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Mondays of each month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Complimentary Blood Pressure Checks
Complimentary blood pressure checks done by the Sussex Fire Department at the Civic Center. No pre-registration necessary.
Available the following Mondays at the Civic Center at 11 a.m.
