The Actively Aging Committee investigates the needs of senior citizens, develops programs and services specifically to serve senior citizens, and provides public information regarding senior citizens' programs and services.

Members

The Actively Aging Committee consists of one Village Trustee and six representatives of the senior community throughout the greater Sussex region. Citizen members serve one-year terms. Statutory Authority

The Actively Aging Committee was founded in 2006 and its powers come from section 1.13 of the Sussex Municipal Code. The Committee's powers are derived from the Village Board, and it serves an essential role to facilitate policy development within the area of Senior programs and services. The Senior Citizen Advisory Committee’s actions include mostly legislative procedures.
