Tax bills are mailed directly to the residents from Waukesha County based on the information on file at the Register of Deeds office as of November 1. The County is required to mail all tax bills by the third Monday of December. The property value on the current year tax bill is based on information gathered by the assessor as of January 1 of the current year.

If your mortgage company requires a copy of your tax bill, it is your responsibility to get them a copy. Tax bills are available online at WaukeshaCounty.gov.

Property Tax Payments

Property tax bills can be paid in two ways:

1. In full by January 31;
2. In three installment payments, which are due January 31, March 31 and May 31. If you miss a due date for an installment payment, the entire balance becomes due.

Payments can be made:

• In person at the Civic Center during business hours (8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday–Friday);
• After hours and on weekends in the night drop box located in the vestibule of the Civic Center on the north (parking lot) side of the building;
• Online;
• By mail (Sussex Civic Center, N64W23760 Main Street, Sussex, WI 53089).
