The Finance and Personnel Evaluation Committee reviews and supervises implementation of the auditors recommendations, investigates options for borrowing capital funds, outlay expenditures and depositories for village funds. Reviews claims against the village, accounting procedures, ordinances and resolutions having a fiscal impact on the village. Receives and reviews the annual budget from the Village President and Village Administrator and proposes a legislative budget to the Village Board.

Recommendations are made for revenue generation, including investment of village funds and intergovernmental contracts. In addition, reviews all personnel matters, including establishment of wage and salary schedules for management and unclassified employees, reviews all labor contracts and labor relations policies of the village.

For all applications relating to fermented malt beverages and intoxicating liquors, mobile homes, and massage establishments, recommendations are made to the Village Board.

Members

The Finance and Personnel Evaluation Committee consists of three members of the Village Board and one Sussex Citizen. The citizen member serves a two-year term. Meetings

Meetings are held the 1st Tuesday of the month Immediately Following the Public Works Committee meeting in the Board Room at the Civic Center - (N64W23760 Main Street).

Statutory Authority

The Finance and Personnel Evaluation Committee is a creation of the Village Board under section 2.08 of the Sussex Municipal Code. The Committee's actions include mostly legislative procedures, but some judicial proceedings occur with license review.
