2025 Summer Day Camp registration starts February 3 at 9 a.m.!
General Camp Information
Location: The Grove at Village Park, W244N6260 Weaver Drive
Hours: The camp day runs 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The cost of camp includes free extended care from 7 to 9 a.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
- Registration is available online only beginning February 3 at 9 a.m.
- Early Bird Registration (5% off) will be offered the first two weeks of registration (February 3-17, 2025).
- Participants are required to pay a non-refundable $25 deposit for each week of camp at the time of registration. Deposits will be applied to the cost of camp for the week. The Village of Sussex offers a payment plan option for those that are interested. Full payment is due the Monday prior to each week attended.
- Registration is for full weeks only and includes free before and after care as part of the enrollment price. Partial-week or individual-day registration is NOT available for any week of Day Camp.
- We will offer a Full-Day Camp option for those not attending Summer Opportunities. Half-Days will be available during Summer Opportunities as in previous years. Please register for the Village Park Shuttle through Summer Opportunities registration if your camper will be attending half-days of camp.
- Two snacks will be provided each day, but each child should bring a non-perishable lunch and water bottle to camp each day. Free lunch is provided through the SOS Free Lunch Program and available to all interested campers.
- Camp includes one weekly field trip (either in-house or offsite), as well as camp T-shirts to wear each day.
Summer Day Camp: Ages 6-12
- Children must be at least 6 years old when they attend camp regardless of grade in school. No exceptions to this age requirement will be made.
- Campers are lead through a daily curriculum which includes scheduled activities, sports, crafts and supervised free time. Whatever the day brings, you can be sure it will be FUN!!
Leaders In Training (LIT): Ages 13-15 (or by recommendation from Staff)
- LITs will gain valuable leadership skills in a FUN environment. LITs will also get to enjoy field trips, challenges, arts and crafts, sports, theme days and special events.
- The LIT curriculum will include the following middle-school age-appropriate concepts:
- Peer Leadership
- Friendship
- Respect
- Responsible Decision Making
- Self-Management & Responsibility
- Empathy
- Digital Citizenship & Cyber Safety
- Testing Anxiety
- Emotion Recognition & Management
- Peer Relationship Skills
- Additionally, LITs will participate in activity planning and leadership in conjunction with our Summer Day Camp program.
Counselors In Training (CIT): Ages 15-17
- CITs will be paired with a lead counselor and work with that counselor, campers and the Camp Leadership Team to gain valuable work/leadership experience.
About our Staff
Our Summer Day Camp staff must be over the age of 18. Many are enrolled in either education or medical related programs at various colleges and universities throughout the country. All staff is thoroughly background and reference checked before they are hired. Staff goes through training in CPR and First Aid, Mandated Reporter, Abuse and Prevention, Behavior Management, safety and de-escalation, in addition to daily camp activities prior to the start of camp. Staff also attends biweekly trainings on various topics throughout the summer.
